‘Half Cocks’ is a sequence of 50 fifty word poems. Here’s one about Gawain and The Green Knight:
FOR CLOSURE SEEK the chapel of mischance, moss-cushioned grotto of seasonal restitution, where the sharpest blades hang out. Self-harm approximates that ritual whereby one wound requites another; but without mercy, which sometimes is worth sticking your neck out for, and by the devil’s luck emerging upright, nearly-scathed.
Dominic Fox is a writer, poet and musician working in London. He has published a work of philosophy, Cold World: The aesthetics of dejection and the politics of militant dysphoria (Zero Books, 2009). He grew up in Ross-on-Wye and was educated at Lincoln College, Oxford. He performs and records shoegazing folk-rock as “w/trem”, and blackened experimental metal as “Spiral Jacobs” (an album ‘Haintology’ is available). He blogs at http://codepoetics.com/octoblog/
